Back At It
Well the next quarter has begun and here I sit staring at 3 textbooks screaming at me to crack their spines and dive in the water is fine. But I know better! That water is freezing cold and I don’t want to freeze. I want to crack the spines on the nice warm romance novels my DH got me. There the water is truly warm and inviting. Well Frell, I better either crack the books or go to bed … it is 2 am here. Ah the perfect excuse I’ll head off to bed.

Oh Rae, I have the solution for you. Reward yourself!
When I had more money and time for novels, and many other things that should get done instead, I would go about it like this:
Do reading homework for one class
Read one chapter of novel
Do written homework for that one class
Read one chapter of novel
fold a load of laundry
read one chapter of novel
write a bit
read one chapter
Homework
chapter
etc., etc., etc....
If you can exercise the self-control to stop reading the novel when you've finished the chapter (or X-number of pages) that is a reward for the completed task, this can work really well to motivate you, as you'll always want to get back to the novel. :)
Good luck in this next round of classes!
